Bride and Groom Wedding Speeches

Wedding speeches that are timed right can "break the ice" early at your wedding reception. Speeches at your wedding should go for about 5 to 10 minutes for each person and preferably shorter for greater than 4 or 5 people speaking.

One idea that I have seen work well is to break the speeches up for more than 3 or 4 speeches. Have a couple of speeches before the main meal then the rest after mains. This can make each speech stand out more and gives your guests a comfortable restroom break if required.

If you are looking for quality wedding speech ideas, I recommend taking a look at the Wedding Speeches 4 U Templates available here.

Below the most traditional / commonly used order of speeches.

1. Bride's Father or Representative
2. Groom's Father or Representative
3. Best man Speech
4. Maid of Honor Speech
5. Groomsmen Reading of Emails/Faxes
6. Groom's Speech (Or with Bride Also)
7. Brides Speech (Only if she wants to!)
8. Propose Toast to Absent Friends by MC

Bride and Groom Speeches

The truth is you can have the speeches in whatever order you like, Hey it's your wedding and you can do it your style! :) What the Bride and Groom Speeches Should Include... If you are the bride and you want to make a speech then generally you should mention how happy you are to be marrying the groom.

You should also thank your parents for supporting you (and possibly paying for your big day). It would be a good idea to mention how wonderful your new in-laws are too. If you had help organizing the wedding then you may want to thank all who helped out.

Finally you may want to also thank the bridesmaids too. These are the main points to keep in mind when you create your speech. If you are the groom and you want to make a speech, firstly you should state your happiness at marrying your beautiful bride.

Next you should thank your parents for their love and support before moving on to the best man. You could mention things that you and your best man have been through together including funny stories. It would be a good idea to thank your in-laws and how happy you are to be joining
their family.

Finally you should say how you can't wait to spend the rest of your life with your new bride. If you are struggling to find an opener for your speech then you could try.. "I'm going to open this speech by thanking everybody for being here on behalf of both my lovely new wife and myself."

Almost a little cliche.. but I'm sure you'll think of something better! Overall the bride and groom wedding speeches are about thanking all of your guests for attending the wedding. It gives you both a chance to say how much you love each other and how happy you are to be extending your family.
